Fruit and Vegetable Chopper Recall After Broken Blades, Cuts Reported

recalled pedrini pro chopperPedrini Pro Chop multipurpose choppers are being recalled due to a laceration hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall of about 6,000 food choppers is being issued by the CPSC and Lifetime Brands Inc., of Garden City, N.Y., after one report of a consumer’s mouth being cut after a blade broke and became stuck in a piece of food. There have also been three reports of chopper blades breaking during use.

The recall involves choppers with model number 5061050 and UPC code 024131114849, which can be found on the chopper’s packaging. The defective choppers were sold at Sam’s Club locations nationwide from October 2009 through December 2009.  Owners should immediately stop using the choppers and return them to Sam’s Club for a refund.
