Master Cutlery Rifle Crossbow Recalled, Can Fire Unexpectedly
A Master Cutlery Rifle Crossbow recall involves about 300 Eagle 5 Rifle Crossbows that can automatically discharge, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The trigger mechanism can come loose on these crossbows after about 30 shots, and when the safety mechanism is moved to the safety position the crossbow can automatically fire, posing a personal injury risk associated with this defective product.
The recalled crossbows, manufactured in Taiwan and distributed by Master Cutlery of Secaucus, N.J., are made of black metal and fiberglass with a 120-pound draw. The were sold online from September 2009 through December 2009. Owners should stop using the crossbows and contact Master Cutlery for a free trigger replacement.
