Britax Stroller Recall Over Laceration, Amputation Hazard

A Britax stroller recall involves about 14,000 “Blink” umbrella strollers from Charlotte, N.C.-based Britax Child Safety, Inc., the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced.
Children’s fingers can get caught in the stroller hinge and become cut or potentially amputated if the stroller is folded.

The recalled defective strollers have the word “Blink” printed on the metal frame on both sides below the handles. They were manufactured between May and September of 2009 and sold at Buy Buy Baby and other children’s product and mass merchandise retailers nationwide. The strollers were also sold online at Amazon.com, BabiesRUs.com, Target.com and Diapers.com from July 2009 through February 2010.

The Britax recall includes the following model numbers:

  • U261814
  • U261815
  • U261816
  • U261817
  • U271813
  • U271817
  • U271815

Consumers should stop using the strollers immediately and contact Britax for free stroller hinge covers.
