A seat belt defect prompted a recall of certain model year 2004 Saab 9-3 vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Saab manufacturer, General Motors Corp., announced the recall because some of the 2004 Saab 9-3 sedans are equipped with front seat belt retractors that could fail over time. If the seatbelt does not properly retract in the event of a crash, a person sitting in the seat may not be properly restrained and could suffer a serious car accident injury.
Dealers will replace the driver’s side seatbelt retractor for free.
