Burn Injuries Prompt Grill Recall

hazardous grill recallSeveral burn injury reports have prompted the recall of 4,600 Kuuma Stow and Go grills, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The hazardous grill recall was issued by Eastwind Industries, Inc., of San Leandro, California because the grills can develop a propane tank leak. This can happen if the fuel container isn’t completely threaded on the regulator during installation.

Eastwind Industries has received three reports of propane tank leaks, which poses a serious fire hazard to grill owners. There have been several reports of consumers burning their hands.

Defective Grill Recall: Product Description

  • The rectangular grills are stainless steel with “Kuuma” embossed on the front
  • The grills are 18.5 inches long by 8.5 inches tall by 10 inches deep.
  • Model number: 83726, printed on packaging bar code label
  • Sold at: West Marine stores nationwide from January 2009 throug August 2009

Consumers should stop using the grills immediately.
