After an 18-month-old child suffered brain damage and another was injured, Minneapolis, MN-based Target Corporation is recalling woven storage trunks, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced. The lids of the trunks can suddenly drop and trap children reaching into the trunk. This poses a child injury, strangulation and suffocation hazard.
In the case of this child specifically, according to the CPSC, “the trunk’s lid came down on the back of her neck and pinned her throat against the rim of the trunk.” Child safety lawyers at Pritzker Olsen law firm have represented the families of children injured by defective products and have the experience and resources to obtain the compensation that injured children and families deserve. Product manufacturers have a duty to make and sell safe products under product liability laws.
