Defective Motorcycle Crash Risk Prompts Recall

A motorcycle accident hazard resulted in a motorcycle recall by MV Augusta Motor, S.P.A., according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

MV Augusta is recalling model year 2010 MV Augusta F4 motorcycles that could have a defect that compromises the proper functioning of the throttle assembly. The recalled motorcycles were manufactured between Feb. 2010 and April 2010. They have an air filter frame (P/N 8000B4061) that can shift out of its proper position, allowing air flow to bypass the filter. This could allow debris to enter the throttle assembly and the driver may not be able to operate the throttle properly, therefore increasing the risk of a motorcycle crash.

MV Augusta is going to notify dealers and owners and will repair the motorcycles for free.
