Fires Prompt GE Front Load Washer Recall
After seven reports of flames shooting out of GE Front-Load Washing Machines and causing smoke damage, Louisville, Kentucky-based GE is issuing a recall of about 181,000 units, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The front-loading washing machines have a wire that can break and come into contact with a metal part of the washtub during the machine’s operating process, which poses the risk of a fire, burn injury, and electrical shock hazard to consumers.
