Snowmobile Fires Prompt Ski-Doo Recall

snowmobile fire recallAfter snowmobile fire reports, BRP Ski-Doo Snowmobiles are issuing a recall because of a potential fuel leak and fire hazard in certain snowmobiles, according to the Consumer Product Safety Comission (CPSC).

There have been six reports of fuel leaks, including three vehicle fires and one instance of snowmobile riders suffering burn injuries. The fuel hose and electronic control unit can rub together, causing friction that can wear down the fuel hose. This could result in a fuel leak, which poses a serious fire hazard and a burn injury hazard to the operator of the snowmobile.
