A bicycle recall has been issued by Campus Cruisers, LLC, due to front forks that can crack and fail, posing a bike accident risk, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The Boulder, Colorado company has received four reports of the front forks cracking, which could cause the bike fork to break completely, posing a bike accident hazard to cyclists. The Eastside Fix Bicycle Forks are made of aluminum. The recalled bikes include the Campus Cruisers Eastside Fix model bikes. They are single-speed, fixed-gear bikes sold in royal blue with white leather seats at independent bike stores nationwide from March through May 2010.
Consumers should NOT ride the recalled bikes with potentially defective forks. Owners may contact their local Campus Cruisers dealer for a free repair.
