Jaguar XF and XK Recall Due to Possible Fuel Pump Problem

Jaguar and Land Rover North America, LLC has recalled 5048 2010 Jaguar / XF models and Jaguar / XK 2010-2011 models.  The component involved in the recall is the engine and engine cooling system.

According to Jaguar, the in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated as the fuel pump relat is not energized following a a vehicle start-up cycle.  The result could be an inadequate fuel supply.

Fuel starvation to the engine could lead to engine stumble, followed by an engine cut-out with minimal warning, which could cause a crash.
