Miravalle Foods, Inc. of El Monte, California is recalling peppers that could be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall involves more than 30,000 pounds of “Miravalle Chile California & Miravalle Chile Nuevo Mexico” brand peppers. According to the recall announcement: “The potential for contamination was noted after lab analysis of a random sample of the affected product conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed the presence of Salmonella.”

Consumers may return the peppers for a full refund. The company has ceased production of the product while the FDA investigates the cause of the Salmonella contamination.
