Fuel Leak Fire Hazard Prompts Navistar Truck Recall
A potential fuel leak and vehicle fire hazard has prompted a Navistar Workhorse truck recall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Two models of 2011 model year Workhorse trucks are being recalled by Navistar, Inc.
The recall affects more than 1,000 trucks that were manufactured between February 2007 and May 2010. A seal on the fuel cap assembly of the dual-fill gas tanks in these vehicles were made with hose material that was not in compliance with design specifications. This hose material can deteriorate and possibly result in a fuel leak, which can pose a serious vehicle fire hazard.
