Listeria Contamination Results in Chicken Recall

Listeria monocytogenes bacteriumStarbucks shelves stocked with chicken wraps are a little emptier after a Listeria contamination prompted a recall. Lawrenceville, GA-based Flying Food Group recalled 204 pounds of ready-t0-eat chicken wraps and chicken plates that may have been contaminated with the dangerous pathogen, Listeria monocytogenes, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Listeria Chicken Recall Product Description

  • 8.4-ounce packages of “STARBUCKS CHIPOTLE CHICKEN WRAPS Bistro Box”
  • 6.3-ounce packages of “STARBUCKS CHICKEN & HUMMUS Bistro Box”

The recalled products can also be identified by their 071511 “enjoy by” date on the package’s bottom lefthand corner and the establishment number “P-34373″. The products were produced July 13 and distributed to Starbucks coffee shops in Georgia and Alabama.

Routine microbiological testing done by the FSIS revealed the contamination. Consumers who have purchased but not eaten the product should dispose of it immediately.
