Hyundai Tucson Airbag Recall Over Potential Child Injury

AirbagA 2010 Hyundai Tucson recall involves potentially defective airbags, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If a passenger in the front right passenger seat weighs more than approximately 240 pounds, this can cause the “passive occupant detection system” (PODS) to light up the air bag warning light. While that light is illuminated, the front passenger seat airbag will deploy in the event of a crash, and will not deactivate if a child is seated in the front passenger seat. This could cause an airbag injury to the child.

Cooper Brand Tire Recall due to Risk of Crash, Car Damage

A Cooper tire recall has been issued due to potential cracking in the tire’s tread shoulder, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced. According to the announcement:

“Tread chunks may separate from the tire casing resulting in body damage to the vehicle or the driver may lose control resulting in a crash.”

Toyo Tire Recall due to Possible Sidewall Defect

Tire Recall crash lawsuitA tire recall involves Nitto and Toyo brand tires that could develop a crack in the sidewall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc., recalled the 2,183 tires after discovering that some were manufactured with a wrinkle in the upper sidewall, which could eventually develop into a crack that could cause the tire to fail, posing a car accident risk and risk of serious injury resulting from a crash or possibly death.

Saab 9-3 Seat Belt Recall

Seat BeltA seat belt defect prompted a recall of certain model year 2004 Saab 9-3 vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Saab manufacturer, General Motors Corp., announced the recall because some of the 2004 Saab 9-3 sedans are equipped with front seat belt retractors that could fail over time. If the seatbelt does not properly retract in the event of a crash, a person sitting in the seat may not be properly restrained and could suffer a serious car accident injury.

Honda Airbag Recall Expanded

AirbagA Honda air bag recall involves an additional 378,758 vehicles more than an earlier Honda airbag recall, American Honda Motor Company announced Tuesday.

This brings the 15-month-old Honda airbag vehicle recall total to nearly 1 million. According to Honda:

“The driver’s airbag inflators in these vehicles may deploy with too much pressure, which can cause the inflator casing to rupture and could result in injury or fatality.”

Toyota Recall Still Expanding
