Suffocation and entrapment dangers associated with drop-side cribs

Recent dropside crib recalls have shed light on the serious dangers of this popular crib design. These cribs have one side designed to be raised and lowered. Although these cribs are convenient for parents reaching into at crib to lift a child, convenience is secondary to your child’s safety. That is the message being adopted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Four Infant Entrapment and Suffocation Deaths Prompt Stork Craft to Recall More Than 2.1 Million Drop-Side Cribs

Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc., of British Columbia, Canada has recalled more than 2.1 million Stork Craft drop-side cribs, including about 147,000 Stork Craft drop-side cribs with the Fisher-Price logo. The recall involves approximately 1,213,000 units distributed in the United States and 968,000 units distributed in Canada.
