Snowmobile Fires Prompt Ski-Doo Recall
After snowmobile fire reports, BRP Ski-Doo Snowmobiles are issuing a recall because of a potential fuel leak and fire hazard in certain snowmobiles, according to the Consumer Product Safety Comission (CPSC).
There have been six reports of fuel leaks, including three vehicle fires and one instance of snowmobile riders suffering burn injuries. The fuel hose and electronic control unit can rub together, causing friction that can wear down the fuel hose.
Arctic Cat Snowmobile Recall due to Fire Hazard
An Arctic Cat snowmobile recall involves about 1,300 snowmobiles that pose a fire and burn hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced. Arctic Cat Inc., of Thief River Falls, Minn. is aware of two reports of fuel leakage near the fuel pump mounting screws. This leakage could result in a snowmobile vehicle fire and possibly a burn injury to the driver.

A Yamaha Nytro snowmobile recall involves about 2,500 units with steering defects
Yamaha Motor Corporation of Cypress, Calif., is recalling 2009 model year FX10 snowmobiles, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). A bolt on these defective snowmobiles can loosen in the suspension and steering system, possibly causing the operator to suddenly lose steering control, increasing the risk of a snowmobile crash.
