Huntington Beef E. coli Recall Involves Over 800,000 Pounds of Meat

Raw Beef BurgerE. coli contamination fears prompted a recall of 864,000 pounds of beef products by Huntington Meat Packing Inc., of Montebello, Calif., the USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

The various beef products include beef patties and burrito filling, as well as beef ground for further processing. There are two sets of products involved in this recall:

Ground Beef Recall Due to E. coli Concerns

A Massachusetts ground beef E. coli recall was announced yesterday by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The recall, issued by Adams Farm Slaughterhouse, LLC., an Athol, Mass., involves 2,574 pounds of ground beef products that could be contaminated with the harmful pathogen E. coli O157:H7.

Steak E. coli Recall UPDATE: Applebee’s and Olive Garden Involved

More states and more restaurants are involved in a multistate steak recall over  E. coli O157:H7 concerns than originally announced, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
