Ice Maker Recall due to Fire Hazard
An ice maker recall involves Scotsman Commercial Modular Cube Ice machines associated with four reports of fires and 37 reports of burned or melted components, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The recalled ice machines (about 43,000 units) pose a fire hazard because an electrical part called a solenoid can fail. The manufacturer, Scotsman Group LLC, of Vernon Hills, Ill. has received no injury reports.
